A concrete driveway is the first thing people see when they pull up to your house, and it takes the most abuse of any hardscape on your property. Our driveway specification starts with 6 inches of compacted crushed stone base, minimum 4-inch concrete thickness (5 inches for heavy vehicles), fiber mesh throughout, and rebar mats at transition points and edges. Control joints are cut at 10-foot intervals maximum - tighter on wider drives - so when concrete moves with Charlotte's seasonal temperature swings, cracks follow the joints instead of running diagonally across your driveway.
